Visoko zmogljiv sistem hlajenja

Sistem hlajenja s pomočjo adsorbcijskih klimatskih naprav, ki temeljijo na uporabi zeolitov, in ki za zdaj deluje na laboratorijski ravni, omogoča zelo visoke izkoristke energije.

Novi material, ki so ga razvili na Kemijskem inštitutu, je mogoče uporabiti v adsorpcijskih klimatskih napravah, ki bi izkoriščale toploto sonca ali odpadno toploto iz industrijskih sistemov ter ohlajale bivalne ali industrijske prostore ter naprave.

Na odseku za anorgansko kemijo in tehnologijo Kemijskega inštituta so tamkajšnji raziskovalci (dr. Nataša Zabukovec Logar, dr. Alenka Ristić in Andraž Krajnc) razvili visoko učinkovit sistem hlajenja s pomočjo zeolitov.

Zadostuje že nizka osončenost

Izum predstavljajo novi napredni porozni adsorbenti (mikroporozni aluminofosfat imenovan AlPO-LTA), ki obljubljajo zelo učinkovito črpanje toplote z adsorpcijskimi toplotnimi črpalkami. Regeneracija novih adsorbentov poteka pri znatno nižjih temperaturah v primerjavi s komercialno-dostopnimi materiali (npr. silikagelom), zato bi takšne naprave delovale tudi pri zahtevnejših pogojih (nižja osončenost).

Nataša Zabukovec Logar pravi, da je njihov material odličen za hlajenje (adsorpcijske klimatske naprave), vendar na laboratorijskem nivoju. Za uporabo v napravah je še predrag oziroma se še vedno uporablja poceni silikagel, čeprav ni tako učinkovit. Vendar se trudijo najti partnerje za razvoj celotnega sistema oziroma za pripravo materiala na pol-industrijskem oziroma industrijskem nivoju.

Učinkovita izraba energije

Prednosti njihovega materiala so v učinkoviti izrabi sončne energije (izkoristek presega 70%), okolju prijazni tehnologiji (zeleni materiali, delovni medij je voda) ter tihem delovanju (nadomestijo delovanje plinskega kompresorja toplotne črpalke).

Sisteme, ki uporabljajo omenjene materiale bi lahko uporabljali za ohlajanje bivalnih in industrijskih objektov, ki ležijo na sončni legi, izrabo odvečne visokotemperaturne toplote pri industrijskih obratih za hlajenje notranjih prostorov ali naprav (hladilnikov/zamrzovalnikov) ter dolgoročno shranjevanje visokotemperaturne toplote.
